The first stage in the review is to develop a baseline for the customer's Oracle licence holding. This is crucial to allow an accurate licence compliance analysis to be undertaken. The customer will provide its view of its current Oracle licence holding. Dataweave will obtain on the customer's behalf an up-to-date licence holding statement from Oracle. Information on the usage of Oracle will also be required; Dataweave will provide a detailed checklist of the information required for the customer and/or its IT operations provider to collate. If required Dataweave can undertake the work to analyse and monitor each server – this work would be on a time and materials basis. To identify the optimum strategy for minimising Oracle licence and support costs it is also important to understand the likely and potential future Oracle requirements. The data gathered in the above two steps will be analysed and a number of potential licence scenarios documented. These could include licence migration, upgrade, termination, or non- standard licence types (e.g. enterprise licence). A report will be prepared including the various scenarios investigated and recommendations for each Oracle licence currently held.
