The Online DBA Database Managed Service consists of scheduled services that proactively manage your environment and on-call services to ensure that guaranteed support against service level agreements is delivered. The package is configurable according to your needs and in-house capabilities. Options include:

Database Monitoring and Issue Resolution
Dataweave's software is loaded onto your environment and constantly monitors the databases and application servers for hundreds of watch points including down server, space limitations, resource constraints, long running processes and more. The service includes 24x365 database server monitoring with automated priority alerts being sent to the customer by email. Reporting provides database performance trends and recommendations for accurate planning and to assist with making informed decisions.

Database issues manifest themselves in many ways and can be caused by a wide variey of contributing factors, usually unconnected with the database! Dataweave DBAs will log in remotely to your database and troubleshoot any issue that may occur. A resolution plan and/or short term workarounds are agreed and implemented in collaboration with your team, the database vendor's support desk and infrastructure, netwoking and third party vendors as neccessary

Patch management, Upgrades and Performance Tuning
Dataweave can take ownership of your database upgrade. It is important to stay on supported releases and apply the latest Critical Patch Updates as they are released. Upgrades need to be rigorously planned, thoroughly tested and efficiently executed minimising downtime.

Performance tuning requires skill, experience and an understanding of the entire environment including hardware, OS and network. Databases require tuning as they grow, as usage changes and especially after major system changes such as an upgrade. Dataweave has the skills and experience to get more from your databases and save you money on hardware upgrades.

Backup, Recovery and Business Continuity
Maintaining your system fully available can be business critical. There are many different technologies and strategies for backup and recovery and Dataweave can advise on the most appropriate option taking into account business needs, existing hardware and software environment and database type(s). In particular Dataweave has hands on experience of implementing Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture including Oracle Real Application Clusters 9i, 10g and 11g as well as Data Guard.
