Database metrics are collected non-intrusively for a week allowing Dataweave’s experienced consultants to review all the important statistics and summarise them into an easily understood report.

Oracle Database Health Check

The simple health check process includes the following phases:

Discovery

The discovery phase defines the scope of the Health Check. The discovery session confirms customer requirements and focuses on the three main areas below. This information is then used to tailor the Health Check to the customer’s exact needs.

  • Environment (servers, applications, databases, storage)
  • Requirements (SLAs, types and volumes of transactions)
  • Known issues (application availability, response times)

Consulting Engagement

During the second phase the Dataweave consultant will connect to the databases and collect statistical information about it’s configuration and status. This data is then analysed to gauge the overall health of the database environment. Diagnostic tools are used during this phase to assist with the analysis of data.

Health Check Report

Once the information is received, collated and analysed, a report is provided containing the results of the review. The report includes an Executive Summary, statement of critical issues, areas for concern, strategic planning and comprehensive technical recommendations.
